THE ROLE The Recreation Inclusion Support Facilitator plays an important role, providing quality leisure programs, services and facilities to our military members and their families. We promote and encourage people who require inclusion support to participate in a wide variety of activities offered throughout our communities. We believe that when members of the Canadian Armed Forces are able to take good care of themselves and their families, they can do better both at home and at work. You will have an important portfolio, facilitating participation of people of varying abilities in the community activities of their choice. You will need to be a compassionate, empathetic and detail-oriented person who possess strong listening and oral communication skills to be successful in this role. Patience, a passion for helping people, and being a team player are also essential attributes. You may be working with one participant or a group of children; all who need help and care to integrate and feel included. This means assisting with the development, planning and implementation of inclusive recreational activities for children with inclusion needs and assisting with personal care and health needs in a variety of settings including at the playground, gym, pool, washroom, at lunch and on field trips. You will ensure integration of participants into recreational programs by using assistive technology and resolving accessibility issues. Each day you will make a difference in the lives of participants and will be contributing to improving the quality of life for our military.
