The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of corporate health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on our Canadian construction sites, with a specific focus on managing WorkSafe BC claims. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of WorkSafe BC claim processes, be an excellent written and verbal communicator and have strong collaboration skills. Primary Responsibilities and Duties Reporting to the Corporate Health, Safety & Environment Manager key responsibilities will include: Collaborate with PNAC’s General Manager, site supervisors, and HSE personnel to develop and implement comprehensive HSE plans and programs in accordance with regulatory requirements and company standards. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures. Provide training and support to employees and subcontractors on safe work practices, hazard recognition, and incident prevention. Act as the primary point of contact for WorkSafe BC claims management, including the timely reporting, investigation, and resolution of workplace incidents and injuries. Liaise with medical professionals, claims adjusters, employer’s advisers, and other stakeholders to facilitate the timely and appropriate treatment of injured workers and the management of their claims. Monitor and track WorkSafe BC claims data, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement in injury prevention and claims management processes. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to HSE activities, including incident reports, investigation findings, and claims documentation. Keep healthy and safety software up to date with current employee information and certifications. Assist in the development and delivery of HSE training programs, toolbox talks, and safety meetings to promote a culture of safety excellence within the organization. All other duties as requested. Education & Experience Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field; Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the industrial construction and/or the forest industry; Demonstrated experience in managing WorkSafe BC claims, including familiarity with claims reporting, investigation, and return-to-work processes; A combination of experience and training will be considered.
