Political Affairs Internship: The role focuses on making poverty a focus of U.S., Canadian and U.K. foreign policy. This is a part-time 12-hours per week, 12 week, unpaid remote internship. If your availability is limited, you can work ahead and complete the program in fewer weeks..Responsibilities will include:Leading public and political outreach in your state and district.Meeting with members of Congress/Government in your State/District/Constituency.Representing The Borgen Project at various business, political and community events.Assisting with fundraising. Our growing team strives to provide equitable access to programs and services for every resident and build resilient communities. With the FRSC’s newly expanded mandate, we are looking for a passionate individual to join us in communicating a diverse portfolio of regional services. From solid waste management to community planning and development, from regional transportation to regional facilities and community development, there's no shortage of exciting challenges. We are seeking a Communications Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Manager of Community Development & Public Relations, you would be an integral part of this multifaceted team environment, working across departments, as well as with internal and external stakeholders. Your Role: Develop and deliver a comprehensive communications strategy to enhance the visibility and credibility of the FRSC. Oversee the development and maintenance of the FRSC’s website, ensuring it remains up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligned with branding guidelines. Coordinate with designers to implement enhancements and improvements as needed. Collaborate across departments to deliver consistent brand messaging across all channels. Enhance the communications framework to effectively communicate with members, partners, customers, and stakeholders. Develop surveys and public engagement opportunities for ongoing guidance and feedback from stakeholders and partners. Support the release of major public-facing publications and reports. Collect, organize, and maintain various types of data that will help inform communication strategies. Develop and implement a measurement system of all communications activities across the organization. Coordinate media inquiries. Support streamlined access to information requests to the FRSC. Develop and oversee Commission transparency standards and implement necessary changes. Your Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Bilingualism in both official languages is an asset. Innovative thinking, sound judgement, and adaptable. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Project management experience with capabilities of tight deadline management on multiple projects. Degree, diploma, designation in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or other relevant discipline. 5+ years of experience in a Communications or Public Relations role. This position is responsible for assisting with case law and litigation research and providing exceptional client support.
