Our full scope optometric practice has an opportunity for 2 enthusiastic optometrists on a full-time basis (5 days a week). We are a well-established practice in Yorkton and area. The practice was originally started in the 1930s and has consisted of 3 practitioners for the last 33+ years. Dr. G. A. Sheasby retired in 2018. Dr. K. L. Caines is wanting to retire as soon as a new associate joins our practice. In addition to 5 fully equipped exam lanes, office examination equipment includes an Optomap (California model), Topcon OCT, Octopus 900 perimeter, Nidek auto K-R, FDT visual field screening, Tonometry (NCT, Goldmann, Perkins, and Tonopen), Nidek RT-5100 Refractor (1 lane), and auto Lensometry. Our office utilizes the Optosys Electronic Medical Records software for all optometric office procedures including billing and reconciliation, appointment scheduling, examinations, ordering of eyewear and contact lenses, and recall/appointment reminders. We currently have over 20,000 active files. We presently employ 8 full-time staff including an office manager. CCOA staff perform pre-testing on all patients. There is a great opportunity for an optometrist interested in diagnosing and managing ocular pathology (cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, AMD, Dry Eye, etc.) as there is not a local ophthalmologist. Our dispensary has 1500+ frames on display with an edging lab on site. We stock a significant inventory of blank single vision lenses for edging (1-hour service) as well as numerous contact lenses (daily and monthly). Rendia patient information system runs throughout the office (exam lanes and patient waiting areas). Our office is open 5 days a week (Monday to Friday) from 8:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (no evenings nor weekends). Remuneration is based on a 1-year contract at 25% of your gross paid billings with a guaranteed minimum of $175,000.00. An associate in 2023/24 earned more than $225,000.00. Opportunity to become a partner after 1 year. Associate contracts can be renewed on an annual basis. Yorkton is a city of over 19,000 people in east central Saskatchewan. Our trading area is estimated at 200,000 people (3rd largest in Saskatchewan). Agriculture, mining, health care, government services for the area (2 – 3 hours of travel in all directions), and education are major economic entities.
